JYSF代表団、駐日インド大使 Sibi George 閣下を表敬訪問

日本のヨーガアーサナの快挙とブランド・バラットを共有

ジョージ閣下大使が日本代表キャプテンの久栄沙織選手に祝意を伝え、トロフィーとメダルの贈呈を受ける場面。

東京、2025年6月5日：日本ヨーガアーサナスポーツ連盟（JYSF）は、代表理事陣とナショナル選手と共に、インド大使館（東京）を訪問し、駐日インド特命全権大使 H.E. シビ・ジョージ閣下を表敬訪問いたしました。本訪問の目的は、「第2回アジア・ヨーガアーサナ・スポーツチャンピオンシップ2025」における日本チームの輝かしい成果を報告するとともに、スポーツ・文化・ウェルネス分野での幅広い取り組みについて共有することでした。

代表団の構成は以下の通りです：

• シン・アシュトシュ（代表理事・JYSF）

• 柏木ゆみ（事務総長/理事・JYSF）

• 吉田要（理事・JYSF）

• 久永サオリ（日本ナショナルチーム主将）

• 高橋さくら（記者・山梨日日新聞）

当日の会合では、ヴィヴェーカーナンダ文化センター（VCC）所長のカニカ・アガルワル氏のご協力により、調整・同行がなされました。

駐日インド大使館にて、ジョージ大使とJYSF代表団による記念撮影。

会談ではまず、日本代表チームがアジアチャンピオンシップで10個のメダル（うち金メダル3個）を獲得し、国別総合第2位に輝いたことが報告されました。主将の久永サオリ選手が、ジョージ大使に直接トロフィーとメダルを手渡し、記念撮影が行われました。

シン・アシュトシュ代表は、ヨーガアーサナスポーツがインド政府青年・スポーツ省の公認スポーツであること、日本国内での普及活動について説明。久永選手は、アジアチャンピオンシップの体験と日本での盛り上がりについて共有しました。

続いて柏木事務総長が、JYSFの公式スポンサーであるハンドメイドヨーガラグブランド「A Better Lifestyle（ABL）」を紹介。モディ首相の「One District One Product（一地区一製品）」構想に共鳴し、5年以上の研究開発を経て誕生した本ブランドは、天然素材を使用したプレミアム製品です。今回は特に、ベチバーで作られた瞑想用ラグ「Be With Me」を紹介し、ジョージ大使も深い関心を示し記念撮影が行われました。

JYSF公式スポンサー「A Better Lifestyle」のヨガラグを紹介。モディ首相の「一地区一製品」構想にインスパイアされたハンドメイド製品です。

ジョージ大使からは、こうした日印の文化・ウェルネス交流への貢献に対し称賛のお言葉をいただき、6月20日大阪で開催される国際ヨーガの日イベントにもぜひ参加してほしいとのお誘いもいただきました。また、大使はヨーガを通じた外交的役割、青少年育成、日本での教育普及についても話題に触れられました。

JYSF側からは、今後の法人登記計画および活動の全国展開について共有され、大使からは力強い激励のメッセージを頂戴しました。

最後に、JYSF一同は、シビ・ジョージ大使およびインド大使館の皆様のご支援に心より感謝を申し上げるとともに、カニカ・アガルワル所長の日本におけるヨーガ普及への情熱と献身に敬意を表します。

ヨーガアーサナは、今後名古屋で開催されるアジア競技大会においてデモンストレーション競技としての採用が提案されています。JYSF（日本ヨーガアーサナスポーツ連盟）は、このビジョンの実現に向けて引き続き尽力してまいります。

JYSF Delegation Meets H.E. Ambassador Sibi George in Tokyo

Celebrating Japan’s Yogasana Victory & Brand Bharat through ABL Yoga Rugs

Tokyo, Japan – June 5, 2025: The Japan Yogasana Sports Federation (JYSF), represented by its leadership and national athlete, visited the Embassy of India in Tokyo for a courtesy meeting with His Excellency Ambassador Sibi George. The purpose of the visit was to report on Japan’s outstanding performance at the 2nd Asian Yogasana Sports Championship 2025 and to share the federation’s broader initiatives including sport, culture, and wellness.

The delegation included:

• Ashutosh Singh, President, JYSF

• Yumi Kashiwagi, General Secretary, JYSF

• Kaname Yoshida, Joint Secretary, JYSF

• Saori Kyuei, Captain, Japan National Yogasana Team

• Sakura Takahashi, Journalist, Sannichi Shimbun

Ms. Kanika Aggarwal, Director of Vivekananda Cultural Centre (VCC), facilitated the meeting and accompanied the team throughout.

The delegation presented the official report on Japan’s participation in the Asian Yogasana Championship, where Team Japan secured the 1st Runner-Up position with 10 medals including 3 golds. Captain Saori Kyuei had the honor of first meeting Ambassador George, presenting the medal and trophy. A group photograph was taken to mark this special moment.

During the meeting, Ashutosh Singh introduced the Yogasana sport and its recognition by the Government of India under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. Saori Kyuei shared her experience at the championship and spoke about the growing popularity of Yogasana in Japan.

General Secretary Yumi Kashiwagi introduced "A Better Lifestyle (ABL)," a premium yoga rug brand and official sponsor of JYSF. She emphasized that the handmade rugs are crafted in Bharat from natural materials, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s "One District One Product" vision. The featured product "Be With Me"—a meditation rug made of vetiver—was presented to the Ambassador Sir, who appreciated the innovation and cultural value.

H.E. Ambassador George sir expressed admiration for the initiative and posed for photographs with the yoga rug. The conversation also touched on various topics including the upcoming International Day of Yoga event in Osaka on June 20, and the role of yoga in diplomacy and wellness.

The JYSF team shared their plans for registering the organization legally and expanding their outreach activities. The Ambassador sir encouraged the team and highlighted the importance of yoga and youth-led initiatives in strengthening Indo-Japan relations.

The JYSF team extends heartfelt gratitude to H.E. Ambassador George sir and the Embassy of India for their unwavering support, and to Ms. Kanika Aggarwal for her dedication in promoting yoga across Japan.

Note: Yogasana is being proposed as a demonstrative sport for the upcoming Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan. JYSF remains committed to supporting this vision.
