新理事ご紹介 – 三田村 真

ドバイでの世界的表彰から、日本での奉仕へ —— 科学と支援の架け橋として

新しい理事をご紹介します—骨髄移植・社会医療・包摂社会の生涯的な支援者です。

このたび、2025年5月19日付で、三田村真氏が一般社団法人Patanjali Japan Foundationの新理事（Director）として就任されました。30年以上にわたる医療分野での革新と社会貢献のキャリアは、私たちの理念である「A Better Lifestyle（より良いライフスタイル）」と見事に重なります。

どうやって出会ったのか？

2023年6月、ドバイで開催されたHealth 2.0カンファレンスにて、世界中から選ばれた100人のチェンジメーカーが一堂に会しました。当団体代表アシュトシュ・シン（Ashutosh Singh）と三田村氏も、その名誉ある100人に選出され、「Outstanding Leadership Award（卓越したリーダーシップ賞）」を受賞。

会場の廊下で交わされた一杯のお茶が、"奉仕（sewa）"と包括的なウェルネスへの共鳴を生み、今日のパートナーシップの種が、まさにその砂漠の熱気の中で芽吹いたのです。

「私は、骨髄移植を必要とするがん患者さんへの支援を中心に、30年以上にわたり様々な社会活動に取り組んできました。」三田村氏は、初対面での会話をそう振り返ります。

「私は、日本での骨髄移植ネットワーク構築に尽力しており、健康なドナーの募集と国際的なつながりの創出に取り組んできました。」 「他にも、災害救助チームとの活動や、知的障がい者支援プログラムなど、人生をかけたミッションとして多様な分野に取り組んでいます。」 「専門は臨床・ライフサイエンスで、医療機器・バイオテック・診断分野での経験を重ねてきました。私の信条は “満たされていない社会的ニーズを解決すること（To solve unmet social needs）” ——この理念に共鳴し、PJFに参加できたことを誇りに思います。」

PJFにとっての意義

三田村氏の医療と科学への専門性とソフトスキルを活かしたリーダーシップは、PJFの多面的な活動に新たな風を吹き込んでくれます。ヨーガ、アーユルヴェーダ的な生活指導、公衆衛生プロジェクトに加え、災害支援やドナー育成、知的障がい者支援といった幅広い現場での経験は、PJFのビジョンと理想にまさに合致しています。

2024年12月21日に三田村真氏が理事として参加されることを発表し、2025年5月19日に正式に登記されました。

Introducing Our New Director – Makoto Mitamura

From global recognition in Dubai to sewa in Japan – a journey of service and science

We’re honoured to welcome Makoto Mitamura as a Director (理事) of the Patanjali Japan Foundation, effective 19 May 2025. His three-decade career at the intersection of health-care innovation and community service mirrors our own mission of “A Better Lifestyle.”

How our paths crossed

In June 2023 the Health 2.0 Conference convened 100 changemakers from around the world in Dubai. Both Ashutosh Singh (our Chief Sewa Officer) and Mitamura san were among that select hundred, each receiving the Outstanding Leadership Award for transformative contributions to global health.

Conversations over chai in the corridor quickly revealed shared passions for sewa, evidence-based wellness, and inclusive community programs—the seeds of today’s partnership were sown right there in the desert heat.

“I have been committed to working on social activities for more than 30 years, especially helping and supporting cancer patients who need hematopoietic stem-cell transplantation,” Mitamura san recalls of the discussion that first connected us.

In his own words

“I have been engaged in establishing a Bone-Marrow Transplantation program in Japan, recruiting healthy donors and connecting a global network.” “Other missions for my lifework include a severe-disaster rescue and support program with my team members, and an intellectual-disability advocate program through sports and tennis.” “My basic specialty is clinical and life science; I have worked in medical devices, biotech, and diagnostics. My mission statement is ‘To solve unmet social needs,’ so I truly appreciate joining PJF.”

Why his appointment matters to PJF

Mitamura san blends hard-science expertise with soft-skills leadership, enriching our ability to deliver evidence-based yoga, Ayurveda-informed lifestyle counselling, and large-scale public-health projects. His experience in disaster relief, donor mobilisation, and inclusive sports dovetails perfectly with PJF’s holistic vision.
