山中湖村長、高村 正一郎氏がヨーガアーサナスポーツと日印交流の推進を表明

～日本代表の準優勝を祝福し、長期的な協力関係へ意欲～

山中湖村の高村村長が「第2回アジア・ヨーガアーサナ・スポーツ・チャンピオンシップ2025」にて日本チームが準優勝（1st Runner-Up）を獲得した快挙を祝福。トロフィーを手に取りながら、スポーツとしてのヨーガアーサナを強く支持し、地域の健康、文化、青少年の育成に向けた長期的な連携を約束されました。

2025年5月16日、一般社団法人Patanjali Japan Foundation（以下、PJF）および日本ヨーガアーサナスポーツ連盟（JYSF）の代表が、山中湖村の高村 正一郎村長を表敬訪問し、ヨーガアーサナスポーツの今後の展開や国際交流について意見交換を行いました。

高村村長は、2025年4月にインドで開催された「アジア・ヨーガアーサナ・スポーツ・チャンピオンシップ2025」において、日本代表チームが初出場で準優勝（1st Runner-Up）という快挙を達成したことに対し、心からの祝福を述べられました。

報告書や写真をご覧になり、実際にトロフィーも手に取ってご覧いただき、「継続して成果を出している姿に感動しました」とのお言葉をいただきました。

第2回アジア・ヨーガアーサナ・スポーツ・チャンピオンシップでの日本の快挙を記念して、山中湖村役場の広報チームが撮影した記念写真。

また、JYSFが山中湖村に拠点を置いたことに関しても高く評価され、今後の展開として、インドの村や自治体と山中湖村の姉妹都市・姉妹村連携の可能性について言及されました。

「ただ署名して終わりではなく、実際に動くような関係性にしたい」と語られ、PJFとJYSFがその架け橋となることへの期待を表明されました。山中湖村ではすでにフランスとの自転車競技分野での国際連携実績があります。

さらに、村内の学校教育にヨーガアーサナスポーツを導入していく構想についても前向きな姿勢を示され、「従来の運動だけでなく、心身のバランスを育む教育にもつなげたい」と、教育委員会等との連携に対して支援の意志を表明されました。

その一環として、2025年5月24日に開催される「きららスポーツフェスティバル」において、山中湖ロードレース（45年以上の歴史を持つ）に先立ち、ヨーガアーサナスポーツのデモンストレーション実施が正式に認められました。

今回の面談では、PJF代表のシン・アショトシュが、「山中湖を世界の中心に」というビジョンと、KESARI HOUSE構想を紹介。「日々のヨーガとアーユルヴェーダの習慣で、ストレス・うつ・自殺のない社会をつくる“健康工場”」としての未来像を共有しました。

また、インドの若者を山中湖で研修し、日本的なプロフェッショナリズムを学ばせた上で、日本国内での就業機会を提供していく構想についても簡単に紹介され、今後の国際人材育成の一環としての可能性にも触れました。

最後に、村の広報担当者も同席のうえ、当日の様子を地元紙に掲載予定のインタビュー取材が行われました。

Yamanakako Village Mayor Expresses Strong Support for Yogasana Sports and Cultural Collaboration with India

Yamanakako, Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan — May 16, 2025

On May 16, 2025, representatives from the Patanjali Japan Foundation (PJF) and the Japan Yogasana Sports Federation (JYSF) met with Mayor Shoichiro Takamura of Yamanakako Village to discuss the recent achievements in Yogasana sports and explore future collaborations.

Mayor Takamura warmly congratulated the Japanese team for securing the 1st Runner-Up position at the Asia Yogasana Sports Championship 2025 in India. He reviewed the championship reports, examined photographs, and personally held the trophy, expressing his admiration for the team's accomplishment.

Recognizing the establishment of JYSF in Yamanakako, Mayor Takamura proposed the idea of forming a sister city or village relationship between Yamanakako and a counterpart in India. He emphasized the importance of active collaboration beyond formal agreements and expressed interest in involving PJF and JYSF to facilitate meaningful exchanges. The mayor cited Yamanakako's existing partnership with France in cycling sports as a successful model.

The discussion also highlighted the potential integration of Yogasana sports into local school curricula. Mayor Takamura expressed his support for introducing Yogasana to students, aiming to diversify physical education and promote holistic well-being. He pledged the village's assistance in implementing this initiative.

In alignment with these efforts, Mayor Takamura endorsed the promotion of Yogasana sports during the upcoming Kirara Sports Day on May 24, 2025. This event precedes the Yamanakako Road Race, a prominent athletic event with a 45-year history in the village.

Mayor Takamura affirmed his commitment to long-term collaboration, acknowledging the continuous efforts of PJF and JYSF. He stated, "Yamanakako Village is fully supportive of these initiatives and looks forward to a sustained partnership."

The village's Public Relations team conducted an interview with the visiting representatives, intending to feature the activities in the local newspaper.

During the meeting, Ashutosh Singh, representative of PJF, shared his vision of transforming Yamanakako into a global center for health and wellness. He reiterated the concept of "Kesari House," aiming to establish a "health factory" that fosters a society free from stress, depression, and suicide through daily routines based on yoga and Ayurveda.

The discussion also touched upon potential collaborations to train young Indian individuals in Yamanakako, equipping them with Japanese professional skills and providing employment opportunities in Japan.

This meeting marks a significant step toward strengthening cultural and educational ties between Yamanakako Village and India, with a shared commitment to promoting wellness and cross-cultural understanding.
